A journey to the video game arcade

Our journey starts in the video game arcade, if you can ever remember playing games in the arcade, then you might remember games like OutRun, and Afterburner.

Playing games in the arcade, you could experience what it was like to play games that simulated real life, in a comic way, as the situations and dynamics were not the same as in real life. Some games did, though simulate real life dynamics, and give an accurate simulation of the real world.

One of those games was Hard Drivin, which also did bend some of the rules of real life tracks, to make the game more exciting.

In the game you drive a sports car through stunt race tracks, jump over a drawbridge, and drive through a 360 degree loop, which is one of the hardest part of the game.

The games also were built specially to be experienced through the arcade, which is different to the multi game environment of the video game console. A video game arcade machine would be designed with the experience in mind, more than anything, as they put you within the game.

Being with the technology they have, the name of the game is entertainment, and they gave it to you with real immersion. To integrate the experience of driving a car, or of flying a plane they gave you chance of feeling the direct response from your actions in the game.

Driving a car in OutRun on a tree would make the arcade machine simulate what happened by making the car hit the tree, and shake to simulate hitting the tree in the game. The steering wheel would simulate what would happen in the game also, by you not being able to move it, until you steered away from the tree.

Today video game consoles have surpassed arcades mostly, but lack what they have in style, and feeling. When a comparable thing happens, in a game like Gran Turismo, what happens when you hit something in the game is comparable, the video game controller shakes, and you can feel it give a force feedback from your actions with in the game.

Driving a car within the game would not give you the complete feeling of driving a car, as something would be missing. What is lacking is the experience of turning a wheel, which you would feel when driving a car.

When you drive a car you have a steering wheel in front of you, where you can steer the car where you are going. The wheel below was built for playing racing games, and simulates the feeling of driving.

The Logitech Driving Force Pro, built for driving games.

A steering wheel gives you the same feeling as when driving a car.The Logitech Driving Force Pro was built specially for Gran Turismo 4, and also works with other racing games. The Logitech steering wheel has a built in force feedback technology that lets you feel the action of the game. It also gives the game added texture, so you can feel what it is like to drive it.

The wheel simulates the 900 degrees turning radius of a real world race cars. The wheel can also be used in legacy mode, which allows you to play your existing force feedback racing games, where the turning radius is 200 degrees. You can buy the Logitech Driving Force Pro for PS2 at amazon.
