Already we have analysed a couple of games in the discount basket like Halo, and Beyond Good and Evil.Now we analyse some video games discount genres. More games lurk in the discount basket, and we investigate for more good deals. The trouble with finding games is that there are so many good games to choose from. We therefore look at a couple of different genres that have games that might be of interest. Currently there are two games being tracked, and analysed, one is an stealth action game, and the other is an extreme sports game.

Splinter Cell is a game in the tradition of Metal Gear Solid, but based on the world of Tom Clancy, and developed by UBI soft. In the game you are Sam Fisher, or “Splinter Cell”, a government agent that is sent out to take down possible threats to national security. The agency you are working for in the game is called Third Echelon. The game is mostly a stealth-based action game where you have to use the environment to your advantage, by hiding in the shadows, and use your night vision equipment to move through the dark. You are also equipped with a gun, which has a silencer, and you can use to take lights, and also against any enemy soldiers, as a last resort if they notice you, when moving around. In the training section of the game, you are introduced to the basics of the game, and how to avoid detection, and get around obstacles, like motion detection cameras, and bad guys. This introduces you to the play of the game, which you can use later to your advantage.

One of the things you learn is the split jump, which you can use to climb narrow corridors. You also learn how to sneak behind your enemy and grab them and interrogate. Learning these skills in the training section can be the difference between, solving a mission, or failing a mission. They give you an added advantage, when you are playing the game, because you have more options to get past enemies, and solve misssions. As a government agent, you are equipped with all the weapons, and gadgets an agent would have, and these help you when the going gets tough. Like the night vision, and the heat sensing goggles, a laser microphone, and of course your gun.

The first mission in the game takes you to T´bilisi, the capital of the former Soviet republic of Georgia. You have to use your stealth skills, which you acquired from the training section, to move through the streets of the city, and rescue an informant from an exploding warehouse. Splinter Cell is a game that offers a lot of action, but most of it requires you to play with stealth, to stay out of the enemies line of sight. The game was first published for the xbox in the year 2002, and was released for the playstation 2 and GameCube in 2003.

Tony Hawk pro Skater is an excellent skater game, released by Activision in 2002, although it can take some time to learn to skate in the game. For the skater that has learned, by trial and error in the game, by that I mean falling a lot, and doing lots of the games challenges. You will be paid well for your patient, as you will be able to use the skate board like a pro, and have opened a lot of the levels in the game. The game has also characters in the game you can unlock, as you progress in the game, like Jango Fett from the Star Wars Movies. You can use his Jet pack as special feature, when doing tricks for points.

The game has an excellent soundtrack of about 35 tunes, with some great music, which gives the game an added touch, and you can skate in tune with the music. At the beginning of the game, you can either start a new game, or go the practice mode, where you can exercise, before you enter the field of the game itself. You can skate in the bustling city life, which are full of people that need your skating tricks skills to help them, and also to get unlock other places that you can skate in. Tony Hawk Pro skater 4 is an excellent skating game, if you got the patient to learn to skate as a pro, or if you already are a pro skater of earlier games, you will do well do skate in this game. The game is with some excellent fun and skating. You can pick it up for the for the Xbox, Play Station 2, or GameCube.
